1. April 17, 2020 Call

Here are the additional resources discussed on the call:

Here are some connectivity troubleshooting tips if you're experiencing pixelating or poor video/audio:

  • Connect to your router via an ethernet cable (and turn off the WiFi on your computer)
  • If you must connect via WiFi:
    • Get as close to the modem/router as possible
    • Close down all other apps you have open (Browsers with multiple tabs open, Outlook, Word, …)
    • Update your application often, changes are being made quickly (i.e. Zoom)
    • Keep your operating system current – Windows, iOS
    • Shutdown your computer if it hasn't been done in awhile. Even daily if you have performance issues.
    • Turn off other devices that are competing for your WiFi bandwidth, or turn off the WiFi function (Other computers, Smart Devices, Echos, Phones, iPads, …)
    • Last option: Turn off video
    • Consider a WiFi Extender
    • Using a virtual background might cause pixelating, … so turn off if needed
    • Contact your Internet Provider and if using Zoom they can tell you about your options and what might be happening
    • Modem/Router. If you haven’t upgraded in awhile you might see about that. Many providers will swap them out as part of your plan.

You can also share these tips with your clients if the connection has been poor.
