For
more than 20 years, Drs. Ellyn Bader and Peter Pearson have been
helping couples resolve issues and create strong, loving relationships.
They are considered by many to be the preeminent experts in couples
therapy training in the world today. They are creators of The
Developmental Model of Couples Therapy, and directors of The Couple
Institute in Menlo Park, California. Their model teaches therapists
how to diagnose, intervene and significantly help troubled relationships.
Ellyn and Peter are the authors
of, "In Quest of the Mythical Mate: A Developmental Approach
to Diagnosis and Treatment in Couples Therapy." The California
Association of Marital & Family Therapists awarded the book
the "Clark Vincent Award" for its outstanding contribution to
the field of marital therapy. Their latest book, "Tell Me No Lies"
gives therapists an effective tool to get couples therapy off
to a powerful start.
Ellyn and Peter maintain an active
lecture and workshop schedule for both couples and professionals.
Ellyn served as president of the International Transactional Analysis
Association, and spent eight years on the Clinical Faculty at
the Stanford University School of Medicine. Peter is a consulting
associate professor at Stanford University.
Ellyn and Peter are unusual among
couples therapists in that they are a couple themselves and have
confronted many of the challenges that they write and speak about.
